Somber Solstice

This three-photo series, captured during the summer solstice at Flagler Beach, conveys a surprisingly somber tone despite the day's usual associations with celebration and joy.

Subconscious Stylizations: Unveiling the Multifaceted Self

This project explores Elizabeth Dold's life through portrait photographs. As the wife of a retired Coastguard Veteran, these images provide a window into the complex emotional journey she navigated over the years. They reveal the challenges of offering unwavering emotional support to her husband during extended physical separation early in their marriage. These photographs provide a truthful depiction of the highs and lows of their enduring relationship, shedding light on the resilience that binds them together.

Pages of Service: A Female Vet's Self-Exposure

In this compelling two-part photographic series, I embarked on a personal exploration of the multifaceted experiences of a female veteran. The first segment of the series employs a collection of self-portraits to convey the intricate layers of isolation and emotional turbulence I artfully grappled with. Despite maintaining connections with friends and family through heartfelt letters, a persistent struggle with depression and the gradual erosion of my identity remained prevalent.
The second segment of the series shifts the focus to the letters I sent during my military service, underscoring their significance as both a lifeline to loved ones and a reflection of my inner turmoil. These letters reassured those close to me and acted as a window into my internal battles and the arduous journey to retain a sense of self. Through this project, I intend to provide a profound glimpse into the often-overlooked toll that military challenges exact on mental health, a journey that commences in basic training and permeates not only one's career but also the very essence of one's character, thus significantly impacting intimate relationships.
